British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
