The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Is Still Fighting.

Everywhere you go, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the Xbox brand. Xbox was recently outsold by a relatively obscure console. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Microsoft remains determined to attract subscribers with strong games on its premier subscription.

The Current Inclusions

The duo of games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.

Upcoming Headline Games

Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of frights and fights."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

In summary, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service by themselves. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. It offers a healthy blend of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.

Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
